Chaplain Resident

Served as a chaplain resident in Emory’s Clinical Pastoral Education program.  Provided spiritual support for patients, families, and staff, primarily in the women's health, neonatal, and pre-surgery units..  Involved working ecumenically with diverse populations, collaborative team work, and detailed medical charting.  Also included training of interns to work in general hospital, maternity, neonatal, geriatric, and hospice centers.

Seminary Intern & Youth Director

Directed the Youth and Young Adult Ministry program in addition to contributing to overall church leadership.  Worked with cross-generational leadership committees, organized special events, recruited and trained volunteers, and assisted in developing and recruiting for music and children’s ministries.  Also provided primary worship leadership to the 160 members congregation for 3 months during a pastoral absence.

National Senate Campaign · Jackson, Mississippi · January - June 2008

Finance Coordinator

Managed all financial contributions, created and maintained supporter databases, and filed Federal Election Commission reports.  Also served as the receptionist, office manager, and volunteer coordinator during the beginning months of the campaign.

College Intern

Worked in programs support for this 1,500 member congregation with an emphasis on Middle and High School ministries.  Assisted in a number of ministry areas and shadowed the Associate Pastors.

Bank Teller

Filled a temporary position in a downtown financial institution.  Assisted customers with payments, withdrawals, and  account management.  Also held responsibility for data entry, reception work, filing, and other general office tasks.

Currently serving as a solo pastor of a 130 member congregation.  Responsibilities include weekly worship and sermons, pastoral care, administrative duties, and Presbtyery participation.  Highlights so far are expanded ministry with children and young families, a church merger, a capital campaign, and improved online presence.
